Usually can detect that mold odor in most sprouts
But seam a good idea to grow food
No it doesn't. I keep them in a dark area for about three days, then expose them to sun the final two days (day four and five). As long as you have good air flow, I have never had issues with mold odors; either in mason jars or sprouting trays.
