That's one opinion..However, what's wrong with posting an article openly, which allows discussion, if any, to go in more organic directions? Posting with opinions leads or directs the discussion even unintentionally.
I think both are additive and necessary and I would not discourage either.

Good point here. Maybe people could just post a description which asks a question or questions about the piece they shared. I think that's a far more effective way to get a discussion going than just an outbound link with no context at all.

I didn't think you meant shilling. I am saying if I post a link along with an opinion or explanation most comments will respond to the opinion. Sometimes I want perspective on the article not on my opinion of the article.
