If you check out the link post menu and go to options, you'll see a box for context. That box was only recently added after much prodding. Personally, I will not post a link without adding context, and I will rarely zap a link without context. Im not alone. Believe it or not, things are getting better in this regard.
Check out @elvismercury. He is a master at this, and is also an advocate.

@cleaningup12, the best I can figure, this one is a combo of a) modeling the behavior you want to see ("be the change you want to see in the world" as per @ekzyis and also Gandhi) and b) rewarding it when you do see it.

Generally it's a fantastic experience on SN, the devs have got it in a great place imo, there's loads of engagement and when a post has context we can all relate to it goes hot very quick
