Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you but Loan Shark doesn't have a third party between the two peers
There is just a borrower and a lender, no one else
(Well, except miners. I consider miners a counterparty to every transaction they mine.)

Ahaha, that's a good and valid points! Everything bitcoin start from miners! What will do without them?
Ok well, that's why I placed it before "plus many other projects". Only the other projects are trying to be the third party! But, you are right, it could be misunderstood! Thanks for clarifying
