At the push of a button, the pod would fill with nitrogen gas, rapidly lowering oxygen levels and killing the user.

This isn't that. If you want to kill yourself if you're going to die anyway in the long term (terminal illness, ect) and be assisted in doing so because of whatever reason you can't do it yourself, you should be able to. I also fully support legal doctor assisted suicide where they prescribe you drugs similar to those used to execute those on death row. Why make someone with terminal cancer suffer and deteriorate before dying? Why make their friends and family forget the person they were before they got sicker and sicker so they can remember that person when they were happy and healthy after their gone?

All of that energy spent on a death chamber could be spent on living. You ain't dead until you are dead. This human life is not some frivolous random activity. Making it "easy to die" is a left brained, heartless exercise in central planning.
Why not figure out how the body works and promote healthy living? Nutrition, exercise, meditation and many other activities that fully utilize the body, mind and heart. Instead the death cult wanted to sell Soylent Green.
