Both of these books attack the seemingly natural tendency to succumb to our emotion and knee-jerk reactions, both in their own unique way.
By expanding the space between these emotions and our actions, it becomes much easier to consistently make decisions that advantage my personal position. Virtue vs vice.
By rejecting vice more often, both time and energy can be much more easily dedicated to the pursuit of wisdom (virtue). I spend hours every day purely focussed on learning and self-improvement.
