A "private" LN node could be: Blixt, SBW, Breez, Electrum. All these by default are using unannounced channels (private, not visible on LN explorers) and DO NOT route any other payments, other than mine.
Yes, I will still have a CLN node on a dedicated hardware (not fucking RPi) but also will use ONLY private channels, for private use. Those mobile LN nodes could also be connected with private channels, to this bigger one, in case is needed.

is not hate. Are cute little machines, but are NOT designed to be reliable machines for LN nodes (and in special for LND nodes). For many other projects could be very good, but not for LN nodes.

i think a Raspi is fine for a private node with a few channels imho.
