The GOP has been a cult since the 80's. today's republican party is not interested in governering either. Also, you say there's still moderate half? Then why is Trump at 60% support in the primaries? Today's GOP is literally loyal to Trump and anyone that's not gets thrown out (Liz Cheney, ect) or threatened and harassed into submission by his crazy MAGA base.
