A very entertaining Thursday Night Football game. Especially if you like penalties. Ok, the penalties were a bit much but overall the game was pretty good and the Seahawks put up a good fight as I expected them to. They won't be putting up such a fight next week in Santa Clara.
I despise the Cowboys but I do have to give Dak some credit. He is having a great year. That vaunted D looked a little suspect last night though. If the Seahawks had Gainwell healthy and could actually run the ball, they win that game.
Week 13 Pick 'em contest will get posted today.
Make sure to get your picks in for the NBA in-season tournament quarterfinals. #333146
Tomorrow will be a poll day and Sunday I will recap the Perth Heat's Round 3 series. Shout out to Botev Plovdiv, the Bulgarian soccer team that adopted Bitcoin, on their 2-0 win today.
Happy Friday.
Sats for all!
Cheers, GR
I was actually following the play-by-play on a soccer match I bet on: Juventus @ Monza (where ever those places are). I needed Juventus to not win, but they were up a goal down the stretch and I was legitimately excited when Monza tied it up right with just a couple of minutes left. Of course, Juventus scored another goal a few seconds later and won.

Those are Italian football clubs. My best friend growing up was Italian. Although he wasn't a big soccer fan a lot of his friends and family were and they all loved Juventus. They are like the Mancherster United of Italy.

What's a "Manchester United"?
So far, Risk Balanced Odds Arbitrage is 0/2 this week, but both times it was looking pretty good near the end. There are a bunch of matches tomorrow, so we'll see how it holds up.

My payout was 1133 for Dallas winning last night. I bet 1000 on Dallas and 500 on Seahawks so I am down on the game but I don't mind because if Seahawks paid out it would have been juicy.
I wasn't even trying to optimize the bet based on the odds. I am sure I could have done better than that.

That's pretty close to what the model recommended actually.

I have seen enough. The Raptors need to trade Siakam and get some shooters. I don’t want to watch another game where they get outscored by 33 from 3.
reply
Bill Simmons proposed a Siakam for Wiggins and Kuminga trade. How does that sound?

I don't think I'd say it was a good game, but it was an entertaining mess of a game. There were even more pretty obvious penalties that just didn't get called. I know the Seahawks used to explicitly count on the refs being unwilling to call every penalty (an old AFC West trick). For a while last night it seemed like that bluff was being called.
reply
Chiefs trick. We will just have the OLine hold on every play and yeah they will probably call a couple egregious ones throughout the game but for the most part we will get away with it and give Mahomes enough time to do his thing.
reply
Not just holding. Have you seen the clips of all their blatant false starts that don't get called? I think the Chiefs know that the league is in their corner, especially with the Taylor Swift stuff, so they're daring the refs to cost them a win.

I was so dismayed after last year's Championship games. Obviously I was bummed about the NFC championship game debacle with Brock getting hurt and then the game getting away from the Niners but the officiating in the AFC championship game really ticked me off. The refs handed the game to the Chiefs. I was glad the season was almost. It really felt like what is the point of even watching.

Yeah... Botev Plovdiv won against Arda (0-2) away... and Botev had a 2.6 odds...so was a nice win!

Seems like they are on a hot streak. I saw they tweeted 6 games in a row without a loss. Players must be loving getting paid in bitcoin.
reply
Yeah...6 games in a row is not bad... And seems like somebody explained to players that receiving their payment in BTC is a very good thing!
