Hope everyone who was celebrating had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday and enjoyed the football games. A bit of an upset with the Packers beating the Lions and then the other two games went pretty much how everyone expected.
Congrats to @kurszusz on winning the Thanksgiving pick 'em. Nice to see some new players joining the pick 'ems lately. Won it on the tiebreaker.
I will post the regular weekly pick 'em shortly.
The Perth Heat have begun their second series (round) of the season. This time playing the defending champion Adelaide Giants. On Sunday I will recap the series.
NBA in-season tournament game are on the docket tonight. The Lakers and Pacers have already qualified for the playoffs.
Sats for all.
Cheers, GR
So far so good for the RBOA wagering strategy. Thanks to the Packers upset, I can't lose more than 500 sats this weekend. If one more game breaks my way, I think I'm set to come out ahead.
This should also be an interesting day for the NBA survivor pool. There were lots of different picks, so someone's likely to take a hit, especially with some of the intentionally riskier picks being made as we go into the playoffs.
reply
I did well with the Packers as well. 2500 sats off a 500 sat bet. I also won the 49ers game but I think I won 100 sats on a 1000 sat bet. But a good start to the week. I just need to win a couple more games and it will be a positive week.
reply
If @siggy47's loser team comes through today we'll be set for the season.
reply
Haha shots fired. If the Jets win today the Survivor pool is over too. tnuts won his game with the 49ers and nifty needs the Dolphins to win today to continue on.

Tim Boyle. Tom Brady. Same number of letters in first and last names. Same initials. They're both Irish. I know how this ends.
reply
I've never heard the name Tim Boyle before. Isn't Rodgers ready to get back out there yet?
reply
December he thinks. He bloody better be he's been sat in a IR spot I'd have loved to use all year.
reply
Yeah, my dad's actually been prematurely celebrating his return, for some reason. I remain skeptical that a 40 year old quarter back will have the fastest recovery in sports history.
reply
It does seem crazy but money can buy the best surgeons and rehabilitation physical therapists. So I guess we'll see.
Remember this day and where you were when you first heard the name Tim Boyle, future HOFer and GOAT.
reply
I clearly remember the stupid Tuck Rule game that launched Brady's career. As long as Tim Boyle's success isn't predicated on a BS call against the Raiders, I'll be happy for all the success he brings the Jets.
reply
100% That was complete bullshit. I remember it as if it was yesterday. I have always hated the Patriots, and I always liked the Raiders.
Where are you betting with Sats? Is there a site or just p2p here?
Also, Go Pack Go. Nice to see some improvement and promise from all those young players
reply
Everything went your way that game. Your oline completely nullified the lions pass rush. Jordan love actually looked not only competent but almost good. And you bought the lions back down to earth in their own house. Watson finally stepping up as the kind of receiver he's got the talent to be. It was an all round decent outing from the Packers. Young squad starting to show flashes of what they could be if the organisation has the patience to let them mature.
reply
10ve looked very composed. Didn't take sacks (some credit to OL but also he threw some away which was good to see). Accuracy looked better as well, deep ball still needs some work. The young WRs are exciting. If they keep developing and progressing, in a year or two this might be the most stacked WR group the Packers have had (dating back to the Driver/Jennings/Nelson/Jones days). Watson, Doubs, Reed, and Wicks. Plus Musgrave and Kraft at TE. Then Heath had some nice plays as well. Nothing's guaranteed, but the last three weeks have provided Packer fans some hope haha

We're betting (allegedly) at freebitcoin. And, yes, I'm aware of how scammy it looks. Also, they don't have LN yet, so you have to transfer in a pretty large sum to make the fees worth paying.
reply
Thanks! I'm aware of it, long running faucet. I just don't like the "pool" betting but I've used it before. Was hoping it was some LN enabled site :)
reply
Have you checked out @ekzyis's work, yet? I haven't had time to play around with it, but the hope is that it will improve our betting options.
reply
I have not, I will be looking at it shortly. Been away from SN for a little while as life's gotten busy. Thanks!
reply
I tested it. What he has completed so far seems to work pretty well once I figured out what I was doing.
Looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
reply
It was 1 surprise result :)
Thank you for the reward!
reply
Woah! Magic beat the Celtics in today's game. Looks like the young boys at Orlando really want a chance at that half a million cash prize.
Let's see how many surprises tonight. I hope Jordan Poole et al continues to suck and does not pull off any surprise.
reply
Big upset. Raps looking good so far.
reply
Yep. By the looks of the score and remaining time, seems like a straight forward win for the Raps. Meanwhile, my palms are sweating watching the Bucks vs Wizards game...
reply
I need the Pacers to win tonight. Thought it was a cakewalk against the Pistons but it’s pretty close.
reply
You got the win. I'm still in it too, still 1 strike. @Undisciplined got his win too from the Raps. Waiting on the Warriors vs Spurs game and the Clips vs Pels game to see if I'll have some company in the 1 strike club.
But what a night of upsets. First the Celtics fell, then the Heat lost to the Knicks in a close game, and the Nuggets lost to the Rockets. That West Group B is looking hella interesting, especially if the Clips beat the Pels tonight. If that does happen, so many teams will be 2-2, and it comes down to next Tuesday's Rockets vs Mavs game.
reply
The Heat game was ridiculous. Complete blow out in the 3rd and then complete collapse in the 4th.
reply
I watched the end of that game after the Raptors game ended. Disappointing finish for the Heat but since I have already used them I don't mind if they get ousted from the tournament.
reply
I feel good about using them already, too. The big mistake I made was using the Lakers instead of Denver. I knew Jokic wouldn't care about this tournament, but I thought Denver was so much better than everyone else that it wouldn't matter, and I failed to consider how much LeBron would want to be the winner of the first tournament, just in case it catches on and ends up mattering to people.
I didn't catch that one. Seems like the Heat and the Bucks will battle it out Tuesday for top spot in their group; while the Knicks might be able to sneak into top spot with a win over the Hornets, plus a Heat win over the Bucks, plus good point differential.
Currently watching Spurs vs Warriors. Close game so far, let's see what the second half brings.
