Yes I agree! I was too lazy to find that post but it also made me think of that.
btw, some kind of "mark as read" feature would also be useful for push notifications. Currently, there is no connection between the notification bell icon and push notifications. The bell doesn't know that you've already read the notification on your phone.
If we know when you click on a notification and it's your only one perhaps we can update your lastCheckedAt field.
