Yes I agree! I was too lazy to find that post but it also made me think of that.

I feel like this is related to this ["zero inbox approach"](https://stacker.news/items/276939): If notifications are just items that show up in the same feed as posts, you could just mark them as read like posts by swiping. Like in inboxes.
