Yesterday's roundtable kicked so much ass! Great guests, great balance of perspectives from those guests, good-faith engagement, insightful. Comments from @niftynei about the entropy of software has been particularly thought-provoking.

Would love to get a behind-the-scenes view of how ya'll put it together, what you learned from it, plans for the future, etc. Especially how SN can bring something unique to an exchange like that -- I can't think of another place where it realistically could have happened at such a high snr.

ᕦ(ò_óˇ) Day 15 of exercising everyday before the saloon opens

Went to a party yesterday. We sat around a camp fire. Went to sleep at 12AM. When I woke up at 9AM, my nose was clogged and I got worried that I may become sick. But I feel better now.

Went outside but didn't feel like exercising. I feel like I should have named this streak differently but I don't want to lose my streak now by changing it, haha 😅

But will definitely exercise tomorrow again. Then I had a 2 day break from calisthenics and I should be able to run again.

reply

The sun rises again tomorrow and so will your streak!

reply

Nothing's set in stone. Sometimes it's important to adjust the streak in order to accommodate real life events. I'm glad you're feeling better.

reply

I envy your streak. Two days pushing hard on the treadmill and I need two days off. Achy old joints.

reply

Don't push too hard even when you're motivated. The priority should be consistency, not giving 100% once or twice :)

My 2 sats

reply

I agree with ekzyis. We don't want you burning out. Enjoy the process because if you push yourself you're not going to enjoy it after a few weeks/months.

reply

I have to say one thing. The whole walking, running, rowing cardio type stuff, I find boring as hell. I tried watching TV, listening to music, etc. Podcasts and audio books are best for me so I stop thinking about what I'm doing.

reply
The whole walking, running, rowing cardio type stuff, I find boring as hell

It is definitely boring, at least initially.

Later, you can compare how you feel with previous workouts and notice differences in how you feel, challenge yourself etc.

You can consider the first few times to just be a benchmark. Another reason to not give 100%: You don't want to put the bar too high for the next times, lol

But it may still be boring so that's why finding something you like doing is important :)

I want to get into bouldering and climbing again. That was the most fun I had while exercising in my life.

reply

Yep. That's exactly what I did wrong. I kept jacking up the speed and incline, thinking I was still in my 30s.

Walk out of any doorway Feel your way, feel your way like the day before

reply

Sounds like the lyrics from a song.

reply

Seldom turns out the way it does in a song.

reply

I'm not sure what you mean. Care to elaborate?

reply

You were right. My first post was from a song my bass player wrote. My response was also a song lyric.

reply

Lol. Ok. That makes sense. So you are a musician?

reply

I was and am.

reply

Jerry! You're back!

The rain won't quit.

reply

It's raining today by us as well. Stay safe brother especially if its those heavy storms.

reply

We're getting some nasty flooding. Maybe it's my contrary nature but I have to admit I enjoy a good storm.

reply

I get very anxious during storms especially when it's extremely windy. Times are changing and it's prevalent in the weather patterns we've been experiencing.

reply

Living where I do I have experienced a few intense storms- Hurricane Gloria, Sandy, and a few down in Florida when visiting my parents. I've never been genuinely scared, but I would be if I lived in areas prone to tornadoes. That scares me.

reply

My area only had one tornado if I'm not mistaken. I think that was probably 20 years ago. We do experience tremors every now and then but no intense hurricane storms. At least where I'm from. Other parts of the country aren't so lucky, unfortunately.

LN address would be like a "bank account", so people can easily send you money there.

What do you feel is currently missing such that this isn’t the case?

LN address would be like a public mail, so people can easily send you messages there, and at least is pay to spam.

I think this is kind of exactly what it does? Minimum amount to send, comments allowed, etc? No free messages

Yes, the future is already here, but many people are still not aware of it.!?

Isn't that the beauty of separating things in public and private?

You choose what to show in the public eye, otherwise would come with consequences.
