I was in charge of buying LSD in my college camp in 2013, stumble upon a way of doing that using Bitcoin and a website in a dark place of internet called Silk Road. Little did I know that the very same year Silk Road was going to be shut down so after a couple of tries I managed to get my hands on a bunch of those "bitcoins" by the time I had them Silk Road went offline, oddly enough something tickled my curiosity and I asked myself "what is bitcoin anyway?"
I started digging and soon after I began mining and stacking like no tomorrow

I first saw it being discussed in libertarian and ancap circles on reddit around 2011-12 (can't recall the exact date). I started learning and acquiring and haven't stopped since.

At dinner in 2014, my father told me about how people in China pushed a digital internet money to $1200 within a couple of months. Didn't think much of it, as I was just finishing high school and did not know much about Finance & Economics.
When I read about Bitcoin hitting $3000 in 2017, I remembered hearing it before and was immensely surprised that it not only survived 3 years but almost tripled in price after dropping almost 85% before.
Combine this with my interest in economics at that time – a complete watershed moment for me...

I don't really remember when I first heard of bitcoin, probably through an AnCap podcast sometime in 2012 or 2013. I do remember asking a group of workmates about it and the 'one in the know' in the world of hackers dismissed it as a waste of time. I pressed and asked why he thought so, and it became apparent his politics separated his mind from the notion of a non-government currency.
Out of curiosity, I asked him about developing an accelerator for sha256 from an FPGA and he said its being done but is highly inefficient and there were some asics being developed that seemed to work effectively. Then I asked about a scrypt miner. He said the purpose of scrypt mining is to make it nearly impossible to hardware mine because of it being highly memory intensive compared to sha256 and only GPUs were suitable for mining litecoin or other scrypt based cryptos.
This started me down the altcoin road and then after years of taking a break, I followed the typical path of bring orange pilled.

A friend sent a group text in early September 2017: “If you guys have the means, go to coinbase.com and buy a few thousand dollars spread evenly between bitcoin, lightcoin, and ethereum.”
I did and it was awesome. Sold it all though well after the peak. After two years of podcasts and even teaching locally about Bitcoin and trying to start a BATM business, bought back in with just BTC in March 2020. Now I’ve OPed all my friends and family.

I heard about it around 2012-2013 at some warez type of website. I installed the wallet, I got I think half a bitcoin from a faucet, but I didn't like the UX, so I deleted it...
And then mid 2017 I heard about it again and though, "ok, let's actually figured out what is this Bitcoin thing about". I looked up some videos on youtube, read some articles. I haven't stopped since then and here we are :)
