It's quite funny how every single time there's a post on Reddit that says something along the lines of "if you could go back in time / tell your past self something / etc"

The most upvoted comment is nearly always "buy Bitcoin" or in today's case, "Bitcoin peaks 65k"

https://reddit.com/r/Funnymemes/s/XiZCq3kOYR

I think one of bitcoins biggest hurdles to mass adoption will be the fact almost everyone feels like they've already missed the boat.

It will take many people a long time to figure out that the "next bitcoin" is Bitcoin.

I get nice rewards despite my relatively limited participation lately. Work's been crazy as I try to get a 41m yacht ready for flag inspection. I leave Sunday to attend the NMEA Expo where I'll learn a bunch about marine electronics, which I will no doubt apply to my day job as a yacht electrician. Today, in my quest to help this yacht get ready, I climed up 5 stories above the water! I had to wear a harness.

@k00b is there a way to delete a profile pic to revert it back to the default satoshi face?

A while back I messed with images for my profile, didn’t like them, tried to reupload the same satoshi image but I just now notice how grainy it is in comparison to the default satoshi face, I want it back 😩

Wanting to move rn but there’s a cat on top of me. Who can relate

@k00b can we have like on BitcoinTalk forum a user signature when we post? Or is too much text taking from a post?

reply

Too much repeating text. We all want a signature but none of us want to see everyone's signature.

The underlying desire is very real and understandable though. We maybe aren't letting you all express your identity well enough.

sneaky @sn hiding away from the crowboy list, yet with a cowboy hat πŸ‘€ hidden feature?

reply

in settings > privacy, there is an option for "hide me from top stackers". this hides any stacker from being shown on the "top" leaderboards, including the "top cowboys".

reply

I was wondering about that setting, what’s the main reason one would do that, to hide the amount of time spent on SN from your wife / stalker? For me that’s all I could come up with lol

being lowkey? staying in the shadow, yet still signalling that" I'm a dedicated cowboy" whenever showing up.

when i had my paranoia phase (too much weed and acid, I guess), i used to have this creepy thought or dream that if i become too aware of how fucked up the world is and start telling others, people will notice but pretend that they are not hearing me.

however, someone will look me straight into the eyes and just move their mouth to let me know that "they" are watching and i should stfu. all while risking their lives to save mine.

in this world, people are not really NPCs, they are just pretending to be to not get noticed by "them".

this plays into the fear of the unknown.

Hell of a morning. Old lady stalled her car in the road and I had to help her find reverse on the hire car…. Traffic backed up and much honking of horns. Why would a garage give her a stick shift to replace her automatic car? Asking for trouble..

Bitcoin might not solve this but ranting about it is making me feel better!

reply

No one in the U.S. can drive a manual transmission anymore. My wife and I are the exception. Parking attendants make me park my old Toyota myself.

reply

I miss driving a stick transmission...much more control of the vehicle. One time I had to drive a "3-in-the-tree" (three gears with gearshift on the steering column). Talk about an odd feeling and grinding those gears!

My first car was a double de-clutch manual transmission. That would blow peoples mind these days!

β€œ[Very] soon, every American will be required to register their biological property in a National system designed to keep track of the people and that will operate under the ancient system of pledging. By such methodology, we can compel people to submit to our agenda, which will affect our security as a chargeback for our fiat paper currency.

Every American will be forced to register or suffer not being able to work and earn a living. They will be our chattel, and we will hold the security interest over them forever, by operation of the law merchant under the scheme of secured transactions. Americans, by unknowingly or unwittingly delivering the bills of lading to us will be rendered bankrupt and insolvent, forever to remain economic slaves through taxation, secured by their pledges.

They will be stripped of their rights and given a commercial value designed to make us a profit and they will be none the wiser, for not one man in a million could ever figure our plans and, if by accident one or two would figure it out, we have in our arsenal plausible deniability. After all, this is the only logical way to fund government, by floating liens and debt to the registrants in the form of benefits and privileges.

This will inevitably reap to us huge profits beyond our wildest expectations and leave every American a contributor or to this fraud which we will call β€œSocial Insurance.” Without realizing it, every American will insure us for any loss we may incur and in this manner; every American will unknowingly be our servant, however begrudgingly. The people will become helpless and without any hope for their redemption and, we will employ the high office of the President of our dummy corporation to foment this plot against America.”

reply

Yes, sometimes I am like, are these people doing charity? How come the price is so good with such great food and even lovely conversations sometimes πŸ₯Έ

reply

All are family run businesses. Food comes from around the corner. That's holding inflation down

reply

Yes, generally they are family-run businesses, and not just restaurants, I found family businesses / old shops are normally a better experience than the new ones. ( some new ones are still good, but just a tiny few of them..; also it must also meant something why these old shops "survived" till now )

But how funny that people used to do what they enjoy then slowly get bigger and became a business, yet in modern days, many businesses are chasing whatever makes more money, founded by blah blah blah MBAs, raised VC funds, with beautiful ( makeup ) data, and most likely short-lived.
