I don't like labels. I bristle when one is slapped on me. I guess I try to think for myself and I despise prejudice. Labels have utility though so this is why I'm using one now. Maxi's get a lot of criticism. Much of this is fair and needed but they aren't wrong. I could write a very long post about all the areas they are right about. The one that comes to mind today is that "crypto" has poisoned the well. Over and over again I get the following reaction from no-coiners.
I start talking about something and we are on the same page. As soon as I mention how bitcoin works into the subject I lose them. I'm not into that crypto stuff. Seems scammy. A real barrier has been created by the shitcoin scammers. Yes, I will admit that there are plenty of "bitcoiners" that are a part of the same problem but they are the minority. I don't know if the approach of being toxic is the best way to combat this snake oil salesmen image that is put on bitcoin but it is one approach. Its not my approach but I would not say it is the wrong way.
How do we change this perception? I think we don't sell bitcoin. Soft sell it. Just use it. Talk about its utility, not as a get rich quick gimmick. Talk about it can it increase freedom and sovereignty. Adapt how you talk about it the person. Encourage they do their own research. Find common ground. When they start talking about the crypto bros find common ground with them. Shift the conversation to the problems with fiat but don't use the technical / economic terms most people don't understand.
What do you think? How do we shift the thinking about bitcoin with no-coiners in practice?

THIS is the keypoint.
I am using my toxic "maximalism" more as a defense mechanism against bullshitism. I explained in this article how I react to each category of people, talking about bitcoin: https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/for-who-is-writing-guides-darthcoin

Yep, I NEVER tell someone you need to buy bitcoin. I think that is a very big mistake. If they ask I'll shoot them straight and tell them what I have done and what I do. In general most people don't take unsolicited advice. There are many mental road blocks that have been put in place to keep people away from bitcoin.

Probably missing some but many folks are just not open to it yet. I think we are better off being ready to talk/teach those that are ready as you say Darth.

Here's something I think some bitcoiners miss. Those that really just buy bitcoin on an exchange or some other provider. If you aren't using the tools you will tend to be distracted by number go up. Or go sideways lately. Start using the tools. Spend your time learning. Now you have something to talk about.

There are so many cool technologies being worked on that you can try out. These are almost always what I end up talking about with no-coiners and even crypto people. Usually the crypto people aren't interested because almost all I know are only looking for a quick easy buck. They still are in Fiat mindset. They have no clue about the value of bitcoin. They don't know how it works. They don't care. From what I can tell crypto is just another way to gamble.
