Started a 21-day challenge in which I aimed to learn something new about Bitcoin or interact with its ecosystem every day. I would also record my progress on Stacker News.
Day 11 - Asked Bitcoiners how they feel about paying children sats to do household chores. Some shared that they distinguish essential chores from others that they would pay someone else to get done. Hence, while essential chores should be done by them to fulfill their obligations as members of one family, children can get sats if they help parents do their work. Getting sats will then be a great way for them to learn about the value of work exchanged for money. I really feel that the discussions with Stackers sharpened my thinking and defined my parenting philosophy more clearly.

Day 5 - Created a discussion post on Stacker News and was surprised to receive 1800+ sats. Never expected for it to garner so much attention. Decided to withdraw 1000 sats to my wallet and spend the rest on zapping others, since I kinda feel rich!
Talking about how unreliable the fiat monetary system is. Taking about Bitcoin. Taking about Machankura. Orange pilled some of my friends. And it's still a work in progress.
Lol I wish. I was on a nice roll then I spent an hour trying to get an svg progress meter for character counts into inputs without messing up the dom flow and gave up. You made the right call on that one.
Like this. But for text inputs (not textareas) to be space efficient vertically we'd want them to be positioned in-line with the input (a hack). When I attempted relatively positioning it (avoiding the hack of absolutely positioning it), it was more work than I wanted. Basically, it's an afternoon of work to get it like I want it.
This evening I will be attending to a Creators Entrepreneur Initiative (CEI) class in Charlotte NC. Today's class is about Project Management, Smart Goals and Evaluating Outcomes...
I hope everyone is having a great start of the week #goodvibes #stackfrens
Hey hey hey!!! Monday is here and boy is it a busy one, grading exams today so I wanted to take a few mins to send you some good vibes today, let's do this!!! May your week be filled with profit, success and lots of love my friends!! It seems that busy Mondays are synonyms of a fast week so no fret it will go fast, remember that you're important!! You've got this!!! Be well and stay frosty gang!!!
Oh yeah. I've been many times. I spent a lot of time near ground zero after the event. My cousin worked there for a construction company doing cleanup. Brother in law NYPD was off that day. One of his sons is now FDNY. The other NYPD.
I've read all about it and I have my questions. I don't think about that stuff today. A lot of people from my home town died in those towers. One person who was at a party with me a week earlier died. That's why I watch.
I am writing a series of articles about healthcare, pharmaceuticals and scientific history based on the research that I have done for my own personal life and family's health. These will be long, with citations aplenty. Is there any interest in that type of content here? The devolution of r/science and other subreddits into echo-chamber hellholes is partially motivating this. I'm hoping to have a place to go on SN where these important discussions and disagreements can take place without moderator bans or overt partisanship.
Looking forward to reading it! I also dug quite some books about health last year, and happy to input some of my findings:
Sickness actually comes from the mind, and some important influencing factors are air, food, and liquids.
All bacteria are already within ourselves; the art of remaining healthy is to avoid creating a suitable environment for the bad bacteria to grow.
Learn how to listen to our body instead of listening to others: when we are sick, it means our body is trying to tell us something; the so-called symptoms actually mean the body is doing its work.
Our body is a perfect machine - it can heal itself, and all we need to do is do less harm! For example, when sick, fasting and sleep.
Modern medicine only masks the systems, not curing the root cause.

There is still so much to learn, I would love to have a dedicated sub to discuss the most important topic: health @hq@sn
Another interesting idea I have been exposed to lately is that we are actually not eating the food but "eating" the living gas inside ( our cell does not need any food ).
Hah yes, I'm not so much looking for "safety". I'd rather have people dig deep into my citations and poke holes in my findings (because some things are quite ugly as you can probably imagine). I WANT TO be proven wrong, if that makes sense. I don't like the things I've found, they make me uncomfortable and sad.
The biggest issue I have with Reddit at the moment, as a scientist myself, is the unwillingness to engage with uncomfortable truths described in peer-reviewed publications (hardly conspiracy theories)

Day 3 - Followed up on a Bitcoinerโs recommendation - btcmap.org - and was stunned to realise that some merchants in my country accepted Bitcoin as payment. Goggled subsequently and learnt the existence of at least 5 restaurants that accept Bitcoin payments. Publicised one of them on a forum that I patronised: TIL that a Japanese restaurant, Maison Ikkoku, accepts payments in BTC!
Howโs this for $38 bucks: Wen Lambo, a grilled rack of lamb garnished with crisp, sour onions
I wouldnโt normally look but having done so I now feel bad for asking lol.
Iโm feeling a bit hurt as I went to the shops yesterday and even without logging in to SN I can hear people calling me a statist f**ktard for using a traffic crossing, media sheeple for buying a newspaper and a certain maxi on here saying I am a 5hitcoiner for using the local currency! SN gets in you head I guess
Lol. It's all good buddy. At least I managed to keep the streak going for 11 days and counting. I'm curious how long I will be able to keep the streak alive. I'm hoping for a Guinness World Record ;)
Indeed... learning every day about bitcoin, is some kind of suffering.
All you learned today, tomorrow could be obsolete already!

What did you bought today with bitcoin.
