How you'd respond to this question?

2.1 quadrillion sats

more units than all the value in the world denominated in dollars

reply

It would likely require a code fork but there is nothing that I can think that would keep it from being subdivided even more.

Instead of 8 decimal points move it to 16.

New Blocks would be slightly larger but I think it would be ok.

reply

Yes and also we already use msats in LN...

Those coins are actually UTXOs. Think about them as main vaults. Inside of each vault are 100 million sats, that can be even divided further.

This FUD is meaningless, because is coming from a POV of fiat mindset. Bitcoin is ENERGY stored on a timechain. That energy can be divided in sub-secquential units that can have a specific value in time, so no need to be always "pegged" to a fiat price.

reply

Because it can... in the future people will be talking about sats rather than btc

Consider the MaxCap of 21M, detract ideally defunct coins (3M) remaining 18M for 8B people... doing some mats it's like 225,000 sats per head for a modest sacrifice of $58.18 circa at today price.

So if you have those sats stacked, you can consider yourself really, really lucky!
