Some of our brightest minds worked decades on the failed String theories, caught up in their own intellectual word-games, of no use in reality. Hope he's doing well and soon realizes that all of ETH is owned / controlled by Infura, Alchemy, and to a lesser degree OpenSea. A slow, wasteful, centralized federated graveyard.
I'm on the verge on this.
Vitalik is obviously smart, so, sometimes I suspect he knows exactly what he's doing.
Other times, though, I think he's oblivious and doesn't know how hard he's betraying humanity as a whole.

OpenSea I don't think has any influence, but you can certainly add Lido to the list.
