Was stuck in Chicago during lockdowns, amount was $400 I believe. The bitcoin transaction didn't actually go through. No tx ID or anything. I thought it was a problem with the ATM and left. But the debit card apparently had a pre-auth hold, and the operator contacted the bank and they both called me to verify it. I said it was me, and Mr. Operator said ok, you're free to use the ATM now, and I probably would have gone back, until he asked that I text (yeah text) a photo of my ID. I started laughing. He was confused. I told the bank to remove the pre-auth hold, and to remove the other speaker from the line who was in mid-sentence proudly justifying his abusive KYC practices.

Yeah, it wasn't a DigitalMint one, it was an indie ATM network local to the Chicagoland area when I was there. Not sure what rules they had surrounding these at the time.
