Well im in South Africa where the average life span is 65, so if I retire at 55 I get a good 10 years to try and make it since I might be able to survive the compounding inflaiton the others wont
Check your family elders first, you may have a way longer life expectancy, those statistics are useful in general however they are called life expectancy at birth for a reason. Many countries with vast rural areas have a high percentage of infants dying at birth or before they reach puberty.

Life expectation figures are usually life expectancy from birth. I'm sure life expectancy for a 55 year old is much higher than 65, even in South Africa.
