I like your suggestion. FYI, in my pool, players are free to make deals with each other towards the end of the season to split the pot. But, the pool is much bigger and the stakes are higher. Your idea makes sense for a pool this size.
That's a cool idea. I don't think we put it in the rules but if the final two players wanted to make a deal on their own that's up to them.
reply
Yeah. That would work fine. Some years 4 or 5 players split the pool, which of course would be ridiculous for us.

Only thing I am stuck on that hasn't been sorted yet is say I lose week 1 with the Chiefs in a big upset. When I re-buy can I use the Chiefs again or are they eliminated for me regardless of win or lose?
reply
No precedent from my pool. I say you can't use Chiefs again.

Agree. That's the way I was leaning too. It's one thing if it happened week one but what if it happens week 8 and I use my last chance to re-buy, pick the chiefs again in week 9, all other players get eliminated that week and I win. I don't think that will fly. I think we are already walking on eggshells with the re-buy idea. Not that I want to get rid of it, because I think it sweetens the pot and gives early exits a chance to stay in engaged but a re-buy at week 8 that wins in week 9 against a player that never had to re-buy and can no longer do so will not be the optimal outcome.
reply
Not sure a rebuy should be a clean slate of teams to repick. If you've picked them youve picked them. Can't reuse with a buy in I think.

Never know. We may all go out week one. Thank god for the re-buy. Haha

It wouldn't be the first time for me.
