My pleasure sir. Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I was thinking along of the lines of crazy formations in football that no human would think of, or basketball starting lineups with 5 centers.
I think of how AI impacted the game of chess and people initially thinking why is this machine making this move at this point in the game but the machine was merely optimizing to win.
Maybe the AI will say Pete Alonso should bunt every time he comes up with a man on first or something counterintuitive like that.
That being said, I think if AI strategy merely optimizes for victory, maybe the games get very boring.
I was thinking maybe Billy Ball on steroids. A friend of mine's daughter works for the Red Sox. She's an MIT computer wiz involved in signing players, free agents, etc. I rarely see her but I saw her a few months ago. I should have asked her about AI.

I can definitely see that. Very cool job for her. I have a buddy that I played baseball with in high school that works for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (owners of leafs, raptors and toronto FC). He got championship rings from both the Raptors and Toronto FC championships. They are obviously not the same as the ones the players get but look similar and still very nice. So maybe your friend's daughter will get a WS ring at some point.
