Fifty Mission Cap - The Tragically Hip. It's about the story of Bill Barilko who scored the game winning goal in OT to win the Stanley Cup. That off-season he disappeared on a fishing trip, the Leafs then went 11 years (which was crazy as they had been dominant) without winning the cup. The year they won again was the year his body was discovered. The leafs still play the song at home games. Also RIP Gordon Downie :(
Edit: thanks grayruby for the forwarded zaps, but also for leading many of the discussions/threads!
I know it well. I do reside in the communist republic of Canada after all. I always appreciated the Canadian ethos that ran as a theme through Hip songs. I have a ton of respect for how Downie handled his last couple years.

I absolutely love the Hip, never enough love outside Canada. He went out with grace, lots of talk for his last performance of Ahead by a Century, rightfully so, but I get absolutely crushed by the performance of Grace Too a few days before that. There is a video of it on YouTube where he just wears it on his face, one of the most powerful yet saddest thing I've ever watched. I think most of us can only hope to have a fraction of the strength and bravery Downie had.
