Great responses regarding rule changes folks would like to see. I am somewhat looking forward to the Homerun Derby tonight. I say somewhat because it is usually exciting for the first 5 or 6 batters and then gets kind of boring. But it being at T-Mobile park in Seattle had me thinking about a trip out to Vancouver/Whistler and Seattle I took a decade ago. Caught a Mariners game while in Seattle. It's one of the nicer ballparks I have been to. With that in mind:
Shill me the best sporting venue (any sport) you have been to.

Wembley Stadium, London UK.
90,000 seats - the largest in England - and a stunning modern facility capable of producing an amazing atmosphere.
Used primarily for football/soccer it also has rugby games (that’s like American Football without armour), and American Football (that’s like rugby with armour), concerts and all while being home to English football.
It’s only let down by it’s transport links and the poor quality of food on offer.

I was so impressed during an event I actually went back and paid to have a behind the scenes tour.
And for a sporting venue that absolutely blew me away in 1990 - Toronto Skydome - I had never been to a big city and I just recall being absolutely amazed at a glimpse of the future. Hotel, retractable roof and in the shadow of the CN Tower…. that was a big deal back then!

I grew up in Toronto. I was at opening night of the Skydome in 1989. My dad was in the retail management business and used to get Jays and Leafs tickets quite often as gifts for buying x amount of y product (usually the cigarette companies were most generous, shows how long ago that was). We also stayed in the hotel to watch a game one year for his birthday. The fire alarm went off at 3am and scared the living shit out of me. The dome was amazing back then. I was a jays flex pack holder (usually 10-20 games a year) and still regularly attending games as recently as 2018.
Don't live in the city anymore but did get out to one game so far this year in May to check out the stadium renovation. They did a nice job, although I was pro building a new stadium by the lake rather than trying to freshen up the dome.

Oh wow. The 90s were an absolutely mad time for the blue jays! My uncle always used to tell (and retell) the story of the hotel not realising it needed one way glass in the rooms facing the filed until part way through the first year…. ;)
You must have seen some amazing games and some impressive players on the roster.
I haven’t visited Toronto in a long time but have very fond memories.

Yes, it was a great time to be a Blue Jays fan. Team is good again now too. Hopefully they have a better second half. Not a terrible year but underperforming expectations so far.

The Big House, University of Michigan’s football stadium was something else. 100,000+ people in a stadium that does down into the earth from where you enter. Pretty awesome.

I took a 12 hour drive to the old Montreal Forum in the late 1980s or early 1990s for opening night against the Buffalo Sabres. That place was like a hockey cathedral to me, even though I'm not a Habs fan. I had only seen it on tv or from photographs. It was like going back in time. All those Stanley Cup banners really floored me. When they played "Oh Canada" and everyone stood up to sing, I got really choked up, even though I'm not Canadian.
I've been to the old Yankee Stadium, Wrigley, and Fenway. There was nothing like the old forum.

Nice. I have been to Maple Leafs Gardens many times but never went to the Forum. I have been to Centre Bell a couple times. Once for world cup of hockey in 2004 and once for ufc in 2010. Montreal is a fun city.
Oddly enough I have never been to Fenway or Wrigley. I have been to old and new Yankee stadium. My wife's cousin lives in Chicago and is a big Cubs fan. Was thinking about a road trip this summer to visit and catch a Cubs game but we planned a couple other things instead. Maybe next summer.

Olympic Stadium is a dump. I have been there a couple times. I think the I was 2 years old the first time (obviously don't remember that visit). Growing up, a lot of my family were Expos fans, so I still remember them fondly. I affectionately, or maybe not so affectionately, like to call the Nationals, the Fake Expos.

Damn. That must have been incredible. I saw the Colosseum when I was in Rome but it was in the midst of renovations so only a portion of it was open but still very cool.
