Maybe it would be good for any organizer to be anonymous as possible I don't know there's a lot of details I really don't know yet and of course they might want to bring a friend like you say

It’s a great idea. 
But it’s also good to be on a safer side. 
It better to arrange for a meet with at least some persons known and it should be like friends of friends.
