I agree with you. Hopefully in person events would solidify that fact for ppl & help teach good opsec, as i think lots of ppl are afraid to publicly celebrate their appreciation of bitcoin for fear of exposing themselves to reprisal. There's lots of closet bitcoiners!

Thinking of doing a swap meet for bitcoiners, your thoughts about it appreciated

I think it's a great idea, do it.

Also, a $5 wrench attack is always a concern regardless of bitcoin or fiat.  The thing is you don't go to the swap meet with all your coins, load up ~$100 of bitcoin on a lightning wallet on your phone and head out.
