Hello everyone, I'm Brazilian and I'm going to discuss a few things that have been happening here in Brazil over the past few weeks.
The left-leaning government wants to pass a law that regulates the internet(fake News project) with active and overt surveillance by public agencies on websites like Facebook and Spotify.
A judge has ordered the suspension of advertisements opposing this law.
The media is strongly in favor of state regulation of the Brazilian internet because it only brings advantages to them.
There is collusion between the media, judiciary, and leftist presidency, with a focus on total control of communications and money.
Recently, the government released a paper explaining why they won't accept tax payments in cryptocurrency and claimed that Bitcoin doesn't exist.
More and more people are leaving Brazil every day, and I'm just waiting for my turn.
Please forgive my English, I'm still learning.
Although they tried, they didn't get the necessary votes to pass the law, and I believe they won't.
Despite the deputies wanting to pass this law, they know very well that if they are in favor, most of them will lose a good number of votes, after all, this law would set precedents for censorship to take over and consequently be harmful for them.
reply
From what I read, they suspended the voting, but they had already achieved a first victory.
However, it seems that this suspension is to avoid a failure of the proposal. So be it.
reply
They postponed precisely because they didn't get the votes. I believe they will not succeed. The important thing is for everyone to keep an eye out and see if they'll try again. As long as the population is pressuring politicians, everything is fine.

Brazil as "B" in BRICS...
They are going to f...k us, plain people - only because we want one thing: the honest, sound money. And no matter if that will be done by: US ally or BRICS ally
It's now or never moment in our life: to vote-out these m...ers, in every coming voting process.
We need to make Bitcoin as central point of voting discussions and this way to have like Nayib Bukele - in as many countries as possible in near future. Let Mexico and US in 2024 be first.
reply
As much as I try to warn people, many are still in favor of this type of control. Bitcoin is our only hope.
reply
You (all) may not be aware of this, but this total control of communication aka censorship force - is spreading very quickly:
"This is a massive attack against freedom of speech"
reply
My god! Very dark times! It's a war of narratives, wokism rising, values like freedom and sanity crumbling.
reply
Here in Canada, we already have one of those internet censorship laws passed. Check out Bill C-11.
What I think is that governments can pass laws all they want, but individuals can always try and find ways to circumvent these laws with technology. For example, China had their great firewall and strict censorship for years, but the Chinese people go over the great firewall with VPN all the time. When a law doesn't make sense and limit people's freedom, people will not follow these laws. It is in the human's nature to want to be free, and they will always seek new ways, use new tools to achieve freedom.
