Interesting, but let me get this straight.
The creator wants an opinion from followers/visitors. Followers give it for free and then pay the creator for graciously allowing them to share their opinion?
Isn't this a bit backward?
“opinion” might not be the best word here.
these polls give fans the ability to influence the direction of a creator’s work too.
imagine your favorite podcaster asks you (and all the other listeners) to suggest questions to ask a guest, and the question with the most sats wins.
fans get a new way to support creators, and it’s a much more exciting experience for fans than a flat monthly subscription with an automated “payment received” email.

Ok, this makes much more sense. :) - I guess the word "poll" is a bit misleading.

polls are one use case, but it’s a pretty flexible widget they’ve built.
you can even do sats races so that the winning item is chosen when a certain funding goal is reached.
