If I wanted a deeper squat, I wouldn’t just stretch more…
I’d get stronger in the positions I’m weak in.
Start with goblet squats
Use the weight as a counterbalance to sit deeper and stay upright
Then train knees over toes
Let your tibia move forward to build real ankle strength
Then live in the deep squat
Adjust your stance to match YOUR anatomy
Knees forward or out… just make sure they track over your toes
Once you can sit there comfortably
Add load and own the position
Short range reps at the bottom
That’s where the real strength is built
Mobility isn’t just flexibility
It’s strength in end ranges
That’s how you unlock a deeper squat
If you’re a busy professional trying to get stronger, move better, and train smarter

This is how I developed my deep squat. I read about it as a superior alternative to sitting on the ground or squatting down on your toes.
Once my hips got accustomed to it, I could just sit in that deep squat pretty much indefinitely.
Same! I watched some video about it being the natural resting position for people back in the day and in many Southeast Asian countries but my ankle mobility wouldn't allow me to get down that far so I started working on it with the stuff in the video until now it's easy.
