I wouldn't pool mine with a bitaxe, friend. I think at this point you'd be earning less than a penny per day...

For solo mining...

CK pool = 2% fee if you find a block but I'd say it's the more reliable pool for uptime since it is more established

Public pool = 0% fee if you find a block

Take your pick

Solo mining is for real bitcoiners.

If you have 2-3 containers full of powerful ASICS I would understand that you are looking to balance the cost of energy with some profit in sats.

But with a single miner with few hashrate, is much better to find your luck in solo mining.

could someone help him set up the bitaxe with his own node? it will be cool to make a video tutorial for his youtube channel

sorry, I am not so updated with mining stuff setup. I was mining in pools and solo, but long time ago and now this shit is different, not the same software, not the same hardware.

I wish I could help OP but instead of giving him outdated info I prefer to STFU in this matter.

The only thing I can say is that solo mining is the best way with a small miner. I know, most of people are excited to see sats coming from the monitor, I know that feeling, is like dopamine. But also I learned one thing: patience is key.

There are enough miners here on SN and I am surprised nobody come to help with instructions.

darth I'm surprised you're using the term solo mining. I'm just remembering the stink that the Ocean/ Datum guys put up to call what we're speaking of here "lotto" mining. Solo mining infers that you're using your own node + own template to hash... would you agree?

reply

yes, solo means you are on your own.

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough in my first post.
I don’t run a node.
Since I don’t want to mine in a regular pool and receive tiny payouts that are basically meaningless for my Bitaxe hashrate, my goal is to mine truly solo to actually contribute and embrace the full variance.
The issue is that without running my own node, I’m not a “real” solo miner. So I’ve been considering using pools that support solo-style mining, like CKPool or Public Pool.
I wouldn’t mind running my own node. The real problem is that I don’t currently have a dedicated machine for it, and I don’t want the additional upfront cost right now. I’d rather deploy every bit of this annoying fiat I earn each month directly into Bitcoin all in.
So for now, I’m weighing the tradeoff between ideological purity (running my own node and mining fully solo) and practical constraints.

a bitcoin node can be run on any simple pc. Just run the bitcoin node softtware and done. nothing else.
The only thing is that you have to keep it online 24/7.
You don't even have to download the whole blockchain, you can use it in pruned mode.

Yea absolutely i want star solo mining. But i don have a node, so i want use publick pool bitaxe for solo mining.

Solomon is already denouncing me as fake Bitcoiner so this doesn't hit hard. Nooo thaaanks, I like my steady pool payouts
