That's a bit of a mis-title. A/Cs don't run constant all day long. They hit a point where they just don't put out cold air and need to take a mechanical break to generate more cold. We deal with this every summer. the A/C does fine until we hit over 110 F, and then we get cold until this high point and it just pushes air at that point. Using a cycling method reduces the mechanical strain, and we're able to get cold air throughout the day.
