Ironically -- this video claims that cryptographically verifying who you are is the way we get censorship....

I'm not saying I agree with the video, but digital ids aren't definitely better for censorship resistance. If it's digital then the ux of verifying your id is better and it's more ubiquitous. Unless the system is designed to be private (zk of some kind would be required I imagine), cryptographic ids will make things worse.
