Wasn't there a bounty involved?

I think some of old merchants were imported from the previous btcmap, using OSM. Many obsolete locations.

The users review is very important, so btcmap devs could remove them.

I have been calling up a lot of these places. Most of them who do accept bitcoin don't seem to know much about it. These merchants have just turned on the Square bitcoin service on their terminal. Not great, but it seems to be a good starting point for a conversation. It took a while, but I found one really promising bar/restaurant in Charlotte, NC. I may make a post to see if stackers have been there. I think they hold local meetups. I should have some more information in a few hours.

Conversation is key. Always has been.

I have been sending verification reports. I'm not sure what they do with them.

I think it goes into https://btcmap.org/tickets?

Guess not. I think I was confused with the map that Block maintains.

Are many fake maps. One is from the BCHers, that imported the old one from OSM and converted into BCH. A lot of confusion, typical BCH.
