Hey plebs,

I have been working on some content on how to secure your seed phrase recently and I thought I would reach out to the community and see what they all think and ask for some feedback.

Instead of writing everything in a single article, I have broken it up in a mini-series of 4 articles with each article focused on what I have identified as the 4 key steps to secure your seed phrase.

Writing Your Seed Phrase (Paper & Metal)
Storing Your Seed Phrase (Location & Access)
Recovering Your Wallet With Your Seed Phrase (Privacy, Security, and Wallet Settings)

I would love to know what the community thinks of all of these steps and what they think I should add or potentially change.

hey OP -

for some, it's unnerving to have a seed phrase that can be discovered or forcibly taken. and splitting it also introduces issues. MPC with keyparts isn't quite ready for retail (like zengo), but a dual factor seed phrase is intriguing...

if you write about the passphrase - a word that works in tandem with your seed phrase - this "seed phrase password" (part of BIP 39) would fit quite well within the context of presenting steps to secure a seed phrase

Totally agree. I have added some content about BIP39 passphrases to my seed phrase page and will add some to the articles where relevant as well.

Wish OP would have given real world examples of seed phrase storage scenarios. But overall helpful info

Super helpful feedback. I appreciate you mentioning this.

That is actually one of the conundrums of a hiding place.

If I provide a list of places to hide a seed phrase, that is where bad actors will look for seed phrases. In order to best hide our seed phrase, we mostly need a list of characteristics of what makes a good hiding place and a list of things to avoid because they are bad hiding places.

Does that help you to better understand why I didn't put that kind of specific info in there?
