I'm wondering if there's some way to use the NFC South as a sort of relegation division.

Maybe the worst team in the league should get to play the next season against that division to get back on their feet.

That would be awesome. The division winner gets elevated to a real division and the worst team in the league plays in the NFC South. Once Jets get in they will never get out.
