Installing Tor system wide would certainly enhance privacy. The downside is that Tor is slow and unreliable. For me it always comes down to a trade off between privacy and security versus convenience. What I wind up doing is running a VPN and rarely using Tor
Yeah, I'm being super zealous about this stuff though. Most sites that are worth using also are 9 times out of 10 only a little slower over Tor, whereas ones that are probably not worth using are either blocking me or slowing me down a lot. I just close the tab and don't go back.
The goal is to minimise the amount of things that distract me from my epic mission coding Indra, privacy is only a secondary purpose. Github isn't hard to use over Tor, for example.
