Not when it comes to rare earths it doesn't.
Nor many other supply chains because the wests neoliberalised economies are bloated with rentseeking parasitic infrastructure cartels and monopolists and lack of proper investment in providing the basics of industrial productive capacity at the lowest cost.
The only way for USA to regain military capacity is massive government investment.
Even then the US industrial structure is so depleted it may never happen even with billions poured into it.
Without the protective security of the nation state and good government strategic management and development of the nations labour, skills, infrastructure and resources private enterprise devolves into a law of the jungle survivalist mode. Look at the third world- that's where Libertarian idiocy will take you.
Without good government free enterprise is a headless chicken.
But you're not even talking about enforcement of basic laws against rape and murder. You're saying the government has to be making the final decisions on agriculture, transportation, and every other industry in the economy measured against the greater good of the nation as envisioned by a single political party. So don't even compare it to the wild west because you're asking to go above and beyond simple "law and order."

You are not engaging in a good faith sequential debate. You invariably change the focus of the dialogue and grossly misrepresent what I have said with absurd and deliberate distortions thus avoiding any credible sequential reasoning from occurring...because at each step your reasoning is faulty and you must constantly avoid the tragedy of your delusions and the conclusions they take us to.

What am I misrepresenting? Do you not think the state has a divine right to dictate to the market what to produce and for whom and for what price? Is the state not your god?

You are not demonstrating any comprehension of what I write.
You repeatedly misrepresent what I have said in the most mendacious and trolling manner.
Read back over the hundreds of comments we have exchanged and see what I mean.
If you cannot see it for yourself then I do not have time or will to explain it for you.
Here is just one example for you-
'You're saying the government has to be making the final decisions on agriculture, transportation, and every other industry in the economy measured against the greater good of the nation as envisioned by a single political party.'
I never said that- it is a gross misrepresentation and only achieves the frustration of any logical good faith reasoned dialogue. If you cannot see that there is no point in any further dialogue.

What's the point of a good faith conversation here in the private sector if the state has already discovered every truth there is to know?
