Trump’s ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, secretly met Jonathan Pollard—an American sentenced to life in prison for spying against the U.S. for Israel—at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem; Pollard’s handler, Aviem Sella, was pardoned by Trump.
In 2015, Pollard was released on parole from federal prison. He was not permitted to travel outside the U.S. Five years later, at the end of Trump’s first term, the DOJ declined to extend his parole restrictions, and he moved to Israel.
