Gen Xer here. I don't remember this at all...don't think it was ever that big of a hit.
There is lots of rock from the 60s-80s that do this sort of sexualization of young girls. In retrospect it all looks pretty creepy...but at the time was seen as "harmless". Not sure that means, probably that we were all very naive.
At the same time social norms were much stricter in general and people would've been aghast at the overt hyper-sexualized imagery of something like modern female rap these days....or like the outfits females were now when performing - basically naked.
So like many of these cases its hard to frame it because so many different variables have changed.

I probably first heard this song on the old radio station KROQ whose employees included Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Dr Drew.
Jimmy was the sports guy and he was actually funny on the radio (and then later the Man Show).

I remember this song. Oingo Boingo was popular in Los Angeles and nowhere else. My friends used to joke Oingo Boingo can sellout Los Angeles but sell zero outside LA.
