The decline in transfers could be because there are simply fewer undocumented workers here. But in a previous earnings call, McGranahan said there could be other issues at play, like fear of being deported.

I think that there's more competition now. Whenever I browse p2p orders I see platforms like Resolut or Remitly which seem to do something similar to Western Union.
A few years ago I had to send emergency money to my parents in Malaysia from Australia. Of course I tried again to send some sats but they were already stressed about losing the wallet. They got me to go to a Western Union and I was actually surprised that the fee wasn't too bad and It only took a few minutes. Anyway, sending sats is still 1000x better.

Indeed.
I think this is a universal truth. Group think, specifically political group clouds your clarity of mind more than almost anything.

When you become an outsider it is easier to see the whole field.
But then you're an outsider. You're one of those radicalized shadowy supercoders. You're worse than the silicon valley bros and the scammers because you're not paying the politicians.
You read what the cRyPtO lobbyist says and dismiss it before the end of the 160 character tweet. Your sats aren't going to that shitcoiner, that's for sure. But that means that your sats aren't going to the politicians. Your wealth won't be used to bribe anyone to get laws that favor you.
If more people were like you, you'd starve the politicians out of the upper class. And that is why you shall not be mentioned in any positive way, ever.

Indeed. I don't expect the regime mouth pieces to care about those that oppose the regime.
