So few months ago I registered on SN via an invite link I saw from one of the post I read online.

The registration wasn't challenging, but after registration I discovered I needed to link my wallet.

That is where the problem was. I have never used any lightening wallet before, and so the whole stuff was confusing.

Especially when I tried to link the wallet, I saw too many options to choose from. I mean; too many wallet options. So I never really wanted go through the stress, I had to paused (leaving my new account inactive) for sometimes.

So recent, while going through my bookmarks, I saw the link to my SN account, and I decided to check back on it. Then I was welcomed by the same problem, so I realised I needed to do this.

I scrolled down to see if I could find a familiar wallet, but none was. So I decided to download any random wallet among the options that were available on Playstore. I downloaded about 5 different wallets, but it was only "Wallet of Satoshi", that was simple enough to use.

I quickly registered through my Gmail 💌 and moved to the "receive" button, copied the address and pasted it in the box where I was required to fill in my address and then Bamm!! My wallet was linked.

Since then till now, I find SN so engaging.

And this is how SN solved the "custodial" issue, by pushing noobs into other custodial issues (aka throwing the dead cat into others garden).

Better just use CCs

if SN really want to be "self-custodial" should remove any other way to connect any custodial wallet. Force users to use their own nodes. Otherwise just stick with CC and is just fine.

It would at least be nice to help new users make good wallet choices. This is the second post since yesterday where the person had no lightning wallet yet.

They could suggest better wallets for new users and still allow other wallets to connect.

If you ask me, I think Wallet of Satoshi is the best for new users. I tell you it didn't take me upto 15 minutes to set things up.

CCs are like Tether-sats 😂😂😂 and the CCs "reserves" are vouched by k00b

I really do not understand why people hate so much CCs. Are just fine! You could even consider them as cashu tokens. Same logic.

I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Would you have been happy just spending and receiving Cowboy Credits for a while?

I wonder if it would be better to make it easier for new stackers to just start with Cowboy Credits at first and then set up their wallets once they get the hang of it.

If I didn't set-up my wallet, Well that could have been a good option until I fully understood the system.
