I am tired of "balcony nodes".... we need strong and good public nodes, not "pleb nodes" that bottleneck the whole LN.
I wonder when so called plebs will understand the difference between public and private node.

I understand the difference between public and private nodes, but I don't understand how it is that having a public node hurts the network.
Specifically, your point about creating a bottleneck. Why is there more of a bottleneck from an existing node than a non-existent one?

If you are driving a slow clunky car on a highway, surrounded only by fast and big lamborghinis, how do you think will react those fast cars?
Will start collapsing, trying avoid your clunky car...
If you want to build your node as a good routing node you start slowly, on another "highways", pleb roads, and in time you try to connect on the highway...

Ok, but my mental model is more like adding another road to the network. If the road is really shitty, people just won't use it and we'll be in the same place as we were without the road.
Is the issue that there's some amount of computational resource involved in analyzing my shitty node and that's more trouble than it's worth for the whole network?

LN entirely is in fact composed by many additional "roads" that in fact are not something "out of LN", are just slower networks connected to the big highway...

Don't forget that private nodes are also a road, but is more like invisible road, slower and smaller, but is connected to the highway, otherwise cannot function at all.

I think of private nodes as more like driveways: they connect me to the network but aren't a throughway.

Maybe people should use this software for water pipes management before running a public LN node, to learn more ab out how to manage liquidity.
