Getting eliminated on a tie seems worse for some reason
Ties are dumb in general. Each team should posses the ball once in OT and then go to college rules. In the playoffs they should just play a full quarter and whoever is ahead at the end wins. If still tied, play another.
What if the two teams agreed to stop playing and just call it a tie? Hahaha
How do sports that don't allow ties handle that case?

They should just replace ties with losses. If you can't win, you lose and sometimes everyone loses.
