Let’s say a tiger is only 50% wild and calm most of the time but still unpredictable. How long do you think it could stay as a pet before instincts take over?

I remember going to Big Cat Rescue (Yes, that Big Cat Rescue) in Tampa around 15 years ago. The guide told us that domestic cats and wild big cats aren't much different in behavior. Crazy Floridians have been keeping big cats for years. The cats bond with people just like a small cat does. The danger is that the occasional scratch you get from your cat isn't as deadly. Deaths are usually accidental. Considering the source, I can't vouch for the accuracy of this theory.

Cheetahs are better pets.
Cheetahs don't view humans as food because humans can't run very fast. Cheetahs hunt things that run.
However, big cat means expensive feeding and lots of land for when they get the big cat zoomies.
So how long could you keep it? Until you go bankrupt from it eating you out of house and home
