This pains me to make as I am a big Kyler fan but last night’s terrible start at the money he is making is ridiculous. If I was a cards fan I would be livid today! Then this quote about the offense taking to long to load? I can already see people banging on him on this quote and tossing out their best call of duty jokes but the cards are 7 years in and how many times have they made the playoffs with Kyler? How many playoff wins?
I think real discussions should be had about moving on from him.
I agree with many points. To be fair to Kyler though both ints were Marvin’s fault. Also Drew Petzing is the worse OC in football.
The thing about Kyler is he always flashes enough great plays to keep you optimistic but then can never put it all together consistently.
He makes a lot but compared to other QB salaries that is just the going rate for a non-rookie starter who is good / not great
The OC point is interesting with Kyler and other guys like him who are best at making things happen outside of structure.
Has Kyler demonstrated an ability to execute a well-designed offense? I recall there being embarrassing reports about him not watching film, which paints a picture of a player who prefers to improvise over planning.
He's still probably the QB I'm most scared of, after Mahomes, to make some ridiculously improbable comeback in any given game.
Those reports were driven by Steve Keim being retarted in contract negotiation trying to get leverage.
Kyler has bad body language when things don’t go well but in general for the last few years he has been the first guy in / last guy out. I don’t think work ethic is the issue.
Petzing doesn’t know how to design an offence to personnel
Ok, but has Kyler thrived in any offensive structure so far?
He’s made 2 probowls in 2020 and 2021. Was pretty dynamic and put up throwing / rushing stats consistently

I know he's had good production but my impression has been that it's more from unscripted play-making than gameplan execution.
That’s how Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Lamar produce most of their dynamic plays and points too
I agree about Mahomes but he's settled into the offensive structure more over time.
Lamar and Josh are great improvisors but they also have a lot of designed runs and they use that threat to set up the rest of their offense. I think both of them mostly execute their gameplans at very high levels.
Kyler seems more like the Mahomes model where his running success mostly comes from scrambling out of pressure.
Hail Murray against the bills! Will never forget that play
He made two amazing TDs+2pt conversions in a 4th quarter against the Raiders when they were down 16. It was some of the most spectacular play I've ever seen.
We both been burned by Kyler
I saw he took 6 sacks!! That’s terrible
I think Kyler needs a real OC. He is a bit of an enigma though.
The thing about him if if cards move on and he goes to a good team with solid coaching I am sure he will have a Baler Mayfield renaissance.
Put him on the Steelers or Vikings he would look amazing with solid infrastructure in place.
Idk if Gannon is up for the task. Might need to burn it all down and try again. Definitely fire petzing. The fan base is pissed because the comeback has bought Petzing at least another few weeks
If Kyler was the 49ers QB he’d look like an mvp candidate with Kyler’s coaching and scheme
I agree with that. I think you at least need to move on from the OC. I think Ganon is doing a nice job with the D. Obviously a lot of guys are hurt.
I’d potentially elevate the DC Rallis to HC and then find a good veteran offensive minded coordinator.
Gannon has been good overall but he is not addressing the glaring issues on the offensive side. Seattle fired their OC / QB after a winning season because they wanted more.
Gannon is too complacent. We are done the honeymoon period. Perform or move on
