Draymond green is an all time great role player. Perfect situation to play with curry and klay. Any other team and he’s probably a pretty forgettable player except for some dirty highlights
reply
Yeah, he might just be known for punching guys in the nuts.
Instead, he gets to be remembered for losing a Finals after punching the GOAT in the nuts!
reply
Draymond played against Michael Jordan in the finals?
reply
Not my GOAT, but it's how it'll be remembered.

I’m still going with Davis and I am hoping the time paradox keeps Davis healthy and the GM does a better job building around him.
Davis Lillard Green
I also like Beal but not in the top three.
reply
The relevant GM question is whether he'd do any better building around Dame or Draymond. I could imagine Dame being easier to build around, but Draymond probably needed the right combination of coach, GM, and roster to unlock his potential.

I think dame is 100% above green on standalone impact. Beal arguably too
reply
I don't think Beal is, but he is far less contingent on his situation. I'd bet Beal has an almost identical career, regardless of where he gets drafted.
reply
But I often wonder are we inflating Green’s greatness? The one year he had to carry the load in GS they were terrible.
Dame has been a really good player but he struggled to win with decent teams in Portland ( CJ and LaMarcus were there right?)
So I think odds are the GM wouldn’t do any better with the inferior (but available) talent of Green and Dame.
reply
Draymond just isn't a franchise player. He is an all-time great complementary player.
AD and Dame were both low-end franchise players and AD proved that he could also be an elite second banana, whereas Dame struggled in that role.
reply
Yeah great observation! I just have a hard time drafting a guy #1 overall just to be complementary.
If I’m a mediocre to bad GM drafting Green won’t save me. He may bust like Anthony Bennett
reply
Is it assumed that if you repeat history that history repeats?
reply
No, we live in a fundamentally probabilistic universe, so quantum uncertainty will still generate different realities (although they may be very similar to the one we witnessed).
I'm taking this as something like another run of a simulation. The characteristics are the same, but the realizations can vary.

Gotta go with The Brow, then. With benefit of hindsight, maybe better load management or training staff, things would have turned out better.

Anthony Davis Damian Lillard Draymond Green
reply
That's what I have too, although I think Dame's a pretty close 2nd.

I want to pick Dame first but Davis has too much potential to be a dominant 2 way player to not take him 1.
reply
I voted for Draymond Green because I liked his attitude..
