If you didn’t watch this past season’s Hard Knocks with the Buffalo Bills don’t waste your time. The show was all fluff and stuff. It was definitely cool to see the players in a personal light but overall it was one big nothing burger.
They even skipped the recorded discussions when players got cut. They didn’t show live player evaluations between the head coach and GM. Also no real coverage on the contract dispute between Cook and the team.
I got some good laughs from time to time (Tre White and Dion Dawkins are large personalities) but for the most part it was a controlled soft message.
To make use of my HBO max subscription I think I might dive into Chernobyl. Because Hard Knocks was a major disappointment
I haven’t seen the last episode but I thought it was interesting. Would have been better if they covered more of the meetings and personnel stuff. I get HBO through a streaming service called Crave in Canada. It comes “free” with my cable subscription.
HBO has a lot of good stuff you can watch to make it worthwhile. Chernobyl is pretty good. Worth a watch.

Chernobyl’s good. I understand that it is wildly ahistorical, but it’s good tv.

So it isn’t factual?
reply
That’s what I’ve heard. It’s heavily dramatized and sensationalized.

I really enjoyed the Penguin
reply
Yeah I heard good things about this show

There's a ton of good stuff on Max, including years of AEW PPVs, Penguin, Peacemaker, The Gilded Age, Dom Patrol, the first season of True Detective, etc. Milk that sub while you've still got it.

I watched the first season of True Detective. I still can’t believe it’s based on a true story

Did you like it? True Detective seasons 1 & 3 I thought were good. 2 was actually decent, though it's a different vibe and a lot of people didn't like it i heard. I didn't like 4 and even wrote a review about it: #694074

Absolutely it was a great show!
