What in the world is sports coming to? When I first saw this my first thought was why?? Derrick had a few good seasons there won an MVP and I think reached a conference finals once? And that was good enough to retire his #1 jersey???

Like am I missing something here? Did the Bulls do this because Rose was born and raised there? It can’t be due to his on court actions. Don’t get me wrong Rose was a freak to watch but he wasn’t legendary. Obviously we can play the what if game but this is just a terrible look by the Bulls.

I guess Vick should get his jersey retired by Atlanta next since he was a freak down there but didn’t really win much.

I'm not sure what the standards should be, but the Bulls have been pretty starved of heroes since the Jordan era

He's the youngest MVP in NBA history, so a more historic player than Vick. Plus, he's a hometown hero, rather than a disgraced sociopath.

We'd need a Bulls fan to really evaluate this, since that's who these things are for. Nick Collison's jersey is retired and you probably don't know who that is (and I probably spelled his name wrong), but he was beloved in OKC.

I know who Nick is. He played a lot of years for OKC plus they did that before they won anything. Plus OKC doesn’t have a legendary player in their history.

Vick fought some dogs and went to jail for it. He’s far from a sociopath. Fighting dogs is seen as evil to some but to others they are no different than other animals that humans use and abuse for sport.
