Definitely agree with this. You get excited about there being actual discussion going on... and it ends up just being a link to some other thread :/
Yeah, the way how I used to scan through the list of posts was also based on the number of comments, because we have a lot of smart folks here and so there's often a lot of signal in the comments.

I guess we can rate limit commenting by making it more expensive to comment in quick succession at the same depth?
A lot of the ones I'm seeing are like 5 comments from the same user(s). I personally wouldn't mind one comment with context but 5-10 without competing comments feels really noisy.

Yeah, just brainstorming, but maybe limit to one comment per person on top level (and way more expensive to add another...).
Also this may be "me" problem, so I wonder how does the wider community feel about it.

Yeah this could work.
I mean we're at minimum of N=2 so I'm just going to assume it's a bigger problem 😅
